First make sure your network is functioning (i.e., you can surf the internet).
Now, go to System Preferences > Print & Fax. Select your errant printer from the list on the left (if it is not IN that list than that's your problem right there!). Click on the '-' at the bottom of the list to delete that printer from the list.
Now click on '+' at the bottom of the list and follow the instructions to select your desired printer from the ones the Mac finds. The Mac will search for new printer drivers for that printer and set things up for you.
